Masked Ocean Springs with a windy drive to Biloxi

Today was a day to play with my mom outside, while her COVID+ husband stayed home wishing he was with us. My mom had continuously tested negative, so I decided to chance it, and hang with her. We wore masks in close contact to ensure I did not get sick during my travels.

From my mom’s condo, we took her usual walking route around the small town of Ocean Springs. Eventually, we rented a golf cart, which seems to be a large part of the traffic in Ocean Springs, and ventured further out on my mom’s walking paths. We went looking for alligators, but found a hawk nesting on a pole, a couple of pelicans fishing, and so many beautiful pieces of art.

After lunch with an anole lizard visitation, we returned to my mom’s condo, where my stepfather said “Hi” from the balcony. We then masked up and headed to Biloxi looking for cemeteries and carved wood statues. We drove along the ocean shore and stopped to see other curiosities and oddities from the roadsideamerica.com site; from astronauts to ships.

We enjoyed a full day of exploring and received ideas for the following day from a local woman as we were trying to find some of the cemeteries we visited. It was a wonderful day along the ocean shore. Amazing food at lunch with the anole lizard being visited and challenged by a friend. I could see why my mom and stepdad come down here every year. Maybe I’ll be able to convince my husband to come visit at some point. I’m not sure Jasper would enjoy the heat of this place.
